“He who is slow to anger is better than the mighty, and he who rules his spirit, than he who captures a city.”
Slow to anger
We lose our cool in many different situations. When we have different opinions with others and we get into an argument. When things don’t go our way. When we are unsuccessful, but others are. When we lose our cool, do we become angry? We may say things we shouldn’t have said. We may do something that we should not have and regret it. When we feel that we are becoming angry, let’s stop. In that way we can become slow to anger.
Better than the mighty
When we slow ourselves from becoming angry, we can make better decisions. We can listen to God’s Word more, and turn our anger into joy and thanksgiving. When we are able to control our anger daily, we can become better than the mighty!
